Latest News On The Moors

Dippers and Wagtails frequent the Streams and Brooks and are charming photographic subjects.
Meadow Pipits, Skylarks, Wheatears busy about their lives on the Moorland edge and Short Eared owls silently glide over the dusky moors. During the spring and summer the moors burst into life when many birds arrive to nest and rear their young. Few are more charming than the wonderful Curlew, these stunning birds with their distinctive almost haunting calls and cute little chicks are always a highlight of the Spring / Summer tours.  The iconic Red Grouse is a permanent resident with us throughout the year and looks as magnificent in the wintery snow as it does in the famous purple heather. The Tours, like the landscape are constantly changing. Check out our Tours and News page’s to see what’s happening on the moors at present, and details of the latest tours available.
